Our exciting Wheels That Heal event is more than just a “wheelchair build.”  It’s the opportunity to give back to America’s finest . . . those who protect and serve, but often sacrifice more than just their time.  If it’s not our brave men and women in uniform who benefit, it’s other worthy individuals, in need of mobility assistance. 

The program begins with the formation of teams, followed by an exciting ice-breaking activity, and the selection of team captains.  As team pride swells, the competition begins.  Teams are armed with iPads®, and using BridgeTheApp™, our proprietary game app, complete various physical and mental challenges, whereby they achieve points.  As benchmarks are met, teams “trade in” their points for the supplies they need to put together brand-new wheelchairs. 

As in the “real world,” teams must divide and conquer, to make it to the finish line, first.  Those who are mechanically inclined, will likely focus on the construction of the chairs.  Those who are more artistically inclined often find themselves creating homemade signs, complete with personalized messages, to attach to the chairs.  And those with a dramatic flare tend to lead the team in its marketing campaign, to be performed live toward the end of the event.

Of course, before the chairs are donated, they must pass inspection, and our process is a fun-filled, high-energy one, sure to leave your participants cheering and begging for more.  Adorned with personalized signs, the final image of the chairs, donated to a worthy charity is one that will invoke pride for all involved.

The event's pinnacle occurs when a representative from a local charity (usually a local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans, the VA, or another deserving organization) receives your kind donation on behalf of its members.

As with all BridgeTheApp™-powered events, shortly after its conclusion, your inbox will contain a link to a web page where all of the photos and videos, captured by your participants, will be available for viewing and download.
